Benign moles are numbed before treatment and gently shaved or scraped flush with the skin’s surface. The area is then cauterized using a precision Hyfrecator device to control bleeding and encourage proper healing. 

Healing is typically fast, with most patients seeing results within a week to two weeks. Some redness or scabbing may occur, but this is temporary. You’ll receive post-treatment care instructions to ensure proper healing and avoid infection. We recommend you avoid scheduling your treatment within 2 weeks of important events for cosmetic reasons as you heal.

Most cosmetic removal appointments take 15–30 minutes, depending on the number and size of the lesions being treated. Your provider will discuss your treatment plan during your consultation.

Most patients experience very little discomfort. The area will be numbed before removal, making the procedure comfortable. DPN removal is generally well tolerated, and your provider will discuss comfort options based on the treatment area and number of lesions.
